Types Of Yoga

  • Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga uses the support of equipment (bolsters, blocks, blankets, belts), to enable long holdings in the poses, without strain or pain.  The main focus of Restorative Yoga is to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation.  Restorative Yoga is perfect for those who may be living with an injury/illness or anxiety/insomnia, or anyone who just would like to experience deep relaxation.

  • Alignment Yoga

Alignment is a term used to describe the precise principles of physical alignment used in classes to maximise the benefit of the poses and minimise discomfort to joints etc. I draw these principles from my teacher training in Iyengar and Anusara Yoga.  More importantly it describes the alignment of the mind to the moment within the practice and alignment to the wisdom found within each one of us.

  • Anusara Yoga

I am a certified Anusara Yoga Instructor, to read more on what this form of Yoga is, click here.

  • Remedial Yoga

Remedial or Therapeutic yoga is a specialised practice focused on the treatment of physical and/or mental ailments. These techniques are specifically to alleviate injuries/medical conditions or conditions of the nervous system. A bit like physiotherapy with added deep relaxation and breathing practices.

  • Iyengar Yoga

I am a certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor, to read more on what this form of Yoga is, click here.

  • Yoga Nidra / Meditation

Yoga Nidra is a sleep-based guided meditation. It invokes that twighlight feeling between wake and sleep. The effect is that the body and mind become deeply rested and it assists healing and relaxation. It is possible for anyone to do Yoga Nidra as long as you can make yourself comfortable you can focus inward and be led by this guided practice.
